My art work has developed over four decades The Cooper Union gave me a solid foundation from which I could comfortably develop my own approach to a subject. Stephano Cusumano was invaluable as a guide into the skills needed to compel the eye to isolate only the essential defining line in order to place the figure inside surrounding space. When I moved to California, I participated in several studio groups at a local college, UCLA, Otis Art Institute. I moved again to beautiful and grand Northern California where I completed many of my full color paintings. Each location introduced me to ideas, teachers and environments that enriched my palette of skills, color and ability. Without my extensive training, I would not have had the confidence and persistence to overcome what would appear to be insurmountable hurdles imposed by disability.
